Excessive 10-35 Alarms
It is highly recommended that FSD’s ensure that the cause for alarm entered into the alarm log book is accurate. Many incidents are being transmitted as 10-35 when they should be given another code. For example:
10-26 Food on Stove (smoke from cooking)
10-33 Odor of Smoke
10-34 Sprinkler System Emergency
10-40 Utility Emergency (water or steam leaks)
Ask the officer what code is being given for the incident and record in the logbook. The officer should sign the book, but in any event obtain his name and unit number.
The logbook can be used as a defense when going to ECB court.
